Many other countries either have or are developing similar tax laws to those recently introduced in the UK regarding personal service companies, according to a recent parliamentary answer.
In some countries, such as Norway, Belgium and Germany, the personal service company worker is worse off than if employed. In the US, a personal service company worker has a slightly higher rate of take-home pay than an employee, but this is more than offset by higher health care insurance. In the Netherlands, a personal service company worker is significantly worse off.
